Jagged Alliance 3d

I'm waiting until it's on the shelves to care about it. I'm still confused by the whole thing about them making two or three JA3's - supposedly one sequel and expansion + one in 3D, whatever that means - and I remember reading that the Russian company doing this one didn't have a very good reputation for quality.

As for it being in 3D, I don't know why in 2006 that would be anything to care about or emphasize in a title. Every game is made 3D now, from strategy games like Civilization 4 to RTS's to RPG's to FPS's, and Silent Storm and Sentinels already showed that 3D in a combat game is no liability and beyond that can be used to add new gameplay elements. I get the whole "Jagged Alliance 3" to "Jagged Alliance 3D" thing in the title, but since 3D is no longer novel it just makes it seem like the game is going to be gimmicky.

As in real time with pause. So as a JA fan I must say I hope the developers die in a fire.

Luckily there are two JA games in development, JA3D and JA3. JA3D will be full of "innovations" such as shitty pause combat, while JA3 will be a game true to the JA style.

Of course I haven't seen any news about either games for ages so they might be dead already. It's better this way, at least JA will be able to die honourably instead of being raped, killed, buried, dug up and killed again like fallout=)

Honestly, this would give me the same kinds of concerns as seeing another great game -fallout- turned over to another company to develop.

The dangers are the same-
(1) is this an opportunity to vamp off another successful game with a crappy follow-up,
(2) Can they remain true to the original.

This thread makes me sad.

I better stop believing in computer games and turn to GOD or something equally pathetic.
