Jerky mouse on cheyenne mountain......

I have a fairly new computer, (dell, P4, 2Ghz process.) and yet when I get to Cheyenne mountain the computer goes very slow all of a sudden. i.e. it jerks when you move the mouse.
Is there any way round this? i.e. adjust settings?

There could be a couple problems: your graphics card or the OS. Check the readme on the patch 1.27 first and see if there are problems with specific cards. You may need to make some adjustments to the card and the game settings to get it to work optimally. I use Win 98 on my P2 machine and have very few problems. IIRC there are some problems with XP - do a search in these forums for ways to fix it.
