Jinxed?

J.E. Sawyer now has a new question for those following the development of Fallout3:

Does anyone like the "jinxed" trait?Seriously. I'm just curious. I get the impression that people only take it for laughs, but never for a serious character.

What do you guys and girls think?

I've only taken jinxed when I'm replaying the game and want to try something new. For a "real" game though, it just doesn't seem worth it. Having the enemy critically fail is always nice, but when my character critically fails too often it just gets frustrating. Maybe if it had some effects on the world outside of combat, or if in combat it led to some more interesting situations than just missing your turn it would be good - but as it is I wouldn't take it as a perk unless I was messing around.

picking it for laughs? LoL, I didn't know the jinxed trait was funny :). I just think critical failures are a ***** and avoid the trait at all cost :). Even if I was replaying I'd pass. It just made more annoyance than anything else.

Jinxed would have worked if the developers actually had a sideline scripting for players to go through an entire game with it. By sideline scripting, I'm refering to how you can play the game with an incredibly dumb player because the characters were edited to cater to this particular player.

Thing about Jinxed was that it made combat real slow. A fight against a swarm of rats can turn into an epic battle with each character throwing thirty swings.

In the United States, that body of law includes the bedrock principle that works in the public domain remain in the public domain. Removing works from the public domain violated Plaintiffs’ vested First Amendment interests. [...] Accordingly—to the extent Section 514 suppresses the right of reliance parties to use works they exploited while the works were in the public domain—Section 514 is substantially broader than necessary to achieve the Government’s interest.[13]

Jinxed is just annoying. I've kept it on for up to the radscorpions. But after the 10th battle taking 5x longer than usual, what's the point? There are other crazy, entertaining traits that could replace this which wouldn't make gameplay boring. Bloody Mess is good because it doesn't affect the gameplay negatively.
I'd really like to see some trait that affected the roleplaying. Not enough to write new plots for it, just some stupid/silly/possiblely funny alternate responses (occasionally). Something like flagellent, schizophrenic, or Tourette Syndrome.

However the Appeals Court did find "Based on the Eldred Court’s analysis, we examine the bedrock principle of copyright law that works in the public domain remain there and conclude that § 514 alters the traditional contours of copyright protection by deviating from this principle."[9] and concluded "since § 514 has altered the traditional contours of copyright protection in a manner that implicates plaintiffs’ right to free expression, it must be subject to First Amendment review."[10] and remanded the case to the district court.
