John Cassidy: Arms Dealer

RetroAmerica

It Wandered In From the Wastes
After the destruction of the Enclave and the sacking of Navarro, the paychecks stopped coming and for an arms dealer, the combination of disgruntled soldiers and large stockpiles of weapons lead to the hottest time in arms dealing.

The full bird colonel took another long swig from the bottle sitting on his desk before continuing. “As I said before Mr. Cassidy I cannot just sell you Federal Government property. I fact I will have to report this to…”

“Report this to who indeed Colonel. Since as last time I checked your bosses are either now radioactive ash at the bottom of the Pacific or piles of ash on the flight line of Camp Navarro. Either way, the ones who know don’t care anymore, and the ones who still care don’t know a damn thing. It’s perfect really!”

The colonel drained the bottle, and with the full force of liquid courage motioned for John Cassidy to follow him. As they left the office, the colonel hollered for his driver, a young private first class unit supply specialist who’d recently gotten orders out of Navarro.

With a quick pace, they headed out of the now mostly deserted building and outside to a waiting staff car. The young specialist ran over towards the rear door and opened it for the colonel, rendering a sharp salute as the colonel drunkenly sat himself into the back of the vehicle. John Cassidy entered around the other rear door. As quickly as Cassidy had entered the staff car, the vehicle pulled away from the building.

Cassidy looked over at the Colonel and spoke. “So how many energy weapons do you currently have in your stockpile?”

The colonel looked at the clipboard in front of him before he spoke. “Currently we have an authorized quantity of 40,000 energy weapons on hand and we currently hold 40,000 weapons.”

“40,000 you say, now colonel that looks more like a one to me than a four. 10,000 energy weapons for an emergency stockpile, now that just won’t do, I would suggest that you immediately demand that whoever runs your chain of supply better have you restocked immediately.”

“And what if when order is restored, someone works it out Mr. Cassidy, what do you propose then?”

“We cut them in!”
