Jonas Ultimate Patch of Mac

I just tried to install the Jonas super patch. But the instructions provided are terrible. I tried to install it three different ways which I could percieve from the poorly worded instructions. Has anyone every gotten this to work? Because I have been unable to even start the program after doing what the readme says.

Wrong forum. And way too little information. What have you already tried? What exactly did you do? What exactly does it say in the readme?

Well I didn't plan on going into depth unless there is actually someone here who can help me. Here is the instructions right out of the read me.

3. Installation

Since this is a full release, the installazion is a lot easier!

Now on with the installation.
This is a bit tricky because of the OS X Environment.

Always remember:
- Make backups first of all mentioned Folders or Applications!
- Be sure to copy only files - not complete folders or even sub-folders !
- You MUST replace existing files!


A. Extract the whole archive into a safe place (NOT into the Fallout2 Folder!)

B. Locate your "Fallout2" Application
From the Menu choose show package!
Then copy the CONTENTS of the "APP" folder into that new window!

Here is the first problem. Inside the folder called APP, there is also a folder called CONTENTS. Sadly however the word contents has a denotation on it's own. So saying move the CONTENTS of the APP folder into the new window could mean two things. Should I move the CONTENTS folder into the new window? Or the contents of the APP folder into the new window? The APP folder contains a whole bunch of files. I tried both ways.

C. Locate the following folder:

"OSX users <your user> library application_support fallout2"

D. Create a new "data" folder in the above window (C), so it looks like this:

"OSX users <your user> library application_support fallout2 data"

Problem two, there already is a data folder in this folder. It's unclear what he means by make a new folder. Do I need to throw away the old folder and make a new empty folder?

Copy ALL data below the dara folder from the umpacked archive into this
new folder!

Here I assume "dara" is a typo for data. So I moved all the stuff from in the data folder, into the data folder that already exists, and replace all files that need replacing.

E. You MUST set the protect flag on all files in thr data:proro folder !!!!
Otherwise all these files will be deleted before being used !

I have used mac all my life, and I have never heard of a protect flag. There is no such thing as a protect flag. There is a lock. I could lock the folders and files if that is what he means. Either way it doesn't seem to help.

F. Finally - start your game! It should work properöy now!
I hope you could follow these steps correctly.
I'm sorry for this conplicated way, but I cannot provide an easier one ....

Thats all. So I have tried all of these things in different combonations all failed to start. Also if this person programs a patch even TWICE as good as he spells and types directions I highly suspect it wont work. So i ask if anyone has ever gotten this to work.[/quote]
