I'm wondering why FPS and online suggestions aren't allowed.
Can someone give me a good answer?
And don't say that those ideas suck or whatever.

well it would be kinda pointless for a first preson rpg

and another thing an online one would not work becauz the fasllout series would be too dumb your just one person who has to do self missions

Actually, most of those who post about those ideas have very little idea about game design, and therefore, the ideas sucked donkey balls (to be polite).

For a Fallout-like FPS, there's a number of mods around, being made, on hold, whatever. A FPS isn't quite Fallout's style, and stays where it is now, in mods and fan-made work. A post-apocalyptic FPS wouldn't be too bad, but it's not Fallout's or any other game's place to mutate into various other things without sense...much like X-Com.

As for the MMORPG, I've seen some really stupid ideas in the short while of seeing Fallout Online suggestions than I've seen in the more than 15 years I've been involved with MMORPG/MUD games. Basically, it's been nothing more than "I want a multiplayer Fallout." Well, most of those naive idealists haven't seen or understood what killed Origin and Ultima. To top it off, if there was a MMORPG, it wouldn't be called Fallout 3. So therefore any topics of that nature are to be posted on the Fallout Online forum.

Dude, what'd I just say? Check the archives. The topic was talked to DEATH, and nobody here is even remotely interested in discussing this any further.

No, it's a prime example of a really poor "idea" for Fallout. It shows little idea of game design, game mechanics, or even MMORPG sociology.

>up to 100k players at a time

Yes, definitely no clue, since most other MMORPGs games have under 10k at a time per server. The rest is just stupid blathering without any clue about how MMORPG games work, or whatever. It seems they just want a post-apocalyptic MMORPG, and there's other ways of that happening than fucking over Fallout like Ultima was. Fallout doesn't have a good development house like Ultima had Origin, so the effects would be most likely even worse. Even leased out to an outside company, the publisher would only be interested in the MMORPG cash flow, and there goes the license.

I swear, most of the FOOL (an aptly-fitting acronym) suggestions don't think past the mental masturbate of "Wouldn't it be kewl if..."
