Karma permanently locked.

Hey again,

Well I decided to boot up my Fallout 1 savegame, and I just noticed that my karma was -65. When I went to the BOS and try to talk to Vree she just ignores me, the hub just fires at me randomly, and I can't talk to the council about the location of the military base.

What the hell is going on?

Is there anyway to unlock my karma or raise it to above 0?

Regards,

Well, just make it an *evil* game, then. I believe you needn't to talk to the Elders or anyone else to find and neutralise the base.

You're possibly screwed in terms of armour, though, since you can only get it from Talus with a high Karma. You'll have to try an alternative way.

Theres always wiping out the BOS...............though I dont think that would net you any power armor.

OT: PS, somehow I*knew* yours would be the next post.

And in fact, If you had managed to destroy all the Paladins on BOS level 1 and had an elecronic lockpick with a decent skill, you could loot some (2 or 3, I can't quite remember) Power Armors from the room north of the training gym.

Thats one of the few things Ive never botherd to do in FO, since I dont like playing an absolute Psycho characther (despite the name) as I feel its to unrealistic.

Uh.. guys, what the hell are you talking about?

Just sneak into Talus's room and take the modulator from his locker and go back to level 3.

I got the power armor a WHILE ago.. And yes I am running 1.01

Are you sure it is locked? I mean, I assume you have done some things that should raise it under normal circumstances. You have had encounters with bandits and the like, since wiping out simple rendom encounters of human/mutant bad guys reaises your Karma as far s I remember.

Anyways...
You could just try to edit your charcter stats and just give yourself higher Karma.

Reinstall the game, and patch.(I know you probably already did that)

When you originally started your saved game was it using a different version of Fallout? If so, maybe there are some conflicts because of that. (though the first FO was pretty stable so probably not) Or maybe a different OS?

However the simplest solution in my opinion would be to just start a whole new game. It is not like it is a long game anyway, and you are probably falmiliar with it to an extent where it would not take you that long to get back to where you are now.
AND IT"S FUN!!!
