Killing team mates

i keep hitting my own teammates because they seem to like to be in a circle formation and when i fire i hit the guy in front of me. is there a way to change the way they line up? like in a V formation like ducks fly in or something like that?

You can't set up formations w/the push of a button, but there is a way to keep the roughly in the formation that they are in. Go to "Options" and turn "Formations" to "On". You will notice that your cursor changes when you are in this mode. The standard movement cursor is a small circle w/a single dot in the middle. The Formations cursor is a larger cursor w/six dots in the middle.

I you should happen to need to get out of Formations mode, don't go back to the Options screen, but rather simply press the "F" key and keep it depressed as long as you need to be in Formations: Off mode.

It takes some practice to become adept at CTB but I always recommend a team smaller than six. You can quickly use the function keys to select team members and move them to different areas. Frontal assaults generally will get you killed so you are best off to try and flank the enemy. Keep snipers to the back and leave them in place to draw fire. Only move your assault squad of 2 or 3. Sneak or crawl into position and use "shift" to select them, then stand up and open fire! If you do find it necessary to use a team of 6 for a frontal assault, then use formations as OTB suggests.
