Off Topic: Speaking of Fable, I found it funny that GMR of all rags mentions that the whole good or evil and responsive world thing has been done before for years before the hype of Fable. To use one such example: Nocturne is a recent release of a series developed by Atlus. similar in design to the Persona series, considering it is the same design house. In these games, the ending depended on how you played, especially if you were good or evil, or chose a certain way. Currently I'm trudging through a backlog of games, but Nocturne promises to chew up a lot of time as well as give a good story.
All of those games tend to be a little warped, and take a lot of luck or preparation, but the demonic overtones are a welcome change from the railroaded greenpreachy crap SquareSoft put out for awhile. Not to really knock those games, the stories were a bit stretched. In fact, the Shin Megami Tensei series is one of many by Atlus, which usually turn into sleepers like From Software and Agetec's King's Field and Eternal Ring games, and similar. They are still remarkable games, but since they don't have widespread appeal and are often a BITCH to play because of difficulty, they don't get the recognition that other series have.
Too bad on the same page they say that a game has heavy role-playing influences because of the stat-raising system, or some such garbage like that. GMR often makes incredibly stupid errors, including ones made out of pure carelessness. After BIS was disbanded, they published the following Feb that they can't wait for BGIII.
Back onto the topic with that, with some choice developers KoTOR 2 looks a bit more promising than the staleness and Deus Ex logic of the first one, but lets hope the corporate whores in that office have enough sense to go for a better game over a SLAM DUNK!
This concludes Rosh's late-night ramble, prompted after a 9 hour marathon UT2k4 mod-testing spree with some friends, whereafter upon finishing my mind forms into the consistency of Jell-O.
