Land of the Dead news

I came across this while looking up info for summer movies-

Romero's fourth installment of the Night of the Living Dead.
http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/twilight.php

The more of this I read the more I am thinking the series has been skull fucked. Evolving Zombies? Commerce? It's the apocalypse! When there is no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth?

What do you think? The other zombie flick of the summer Undead, sounds terrible.

But then, it looks to be a crappy summer for film.

Welsh I must say I agree with you 100%. It has been skull fucked, and I think it has to do with Romero bowing to the studios. As if you watch the director's version of Dawn of the Dead he stated some of what he had for the 4th movie, and it sounds nothing like what this one is going to be. Sad really, as Romero defined the zombie genre with Dawn.

The whole "evolving zombies" thing bothers me - if a zombie "evolves" and becomes more intelligent, then what's the point of calling it a zombie? If someone was going to make a movie about a bunch of cannibals with bad skin conditions assaulting a futuristic city I'd think it was the cheesiest idea I'd ever heard.

Still, I have faith in Romero. I'm a little skeptical but I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now.

Romero won't let them fuck him over like they did with Day of the Dead. This is his masterpiece.

Edit: I didn't know what I was talking about.

Undead is pretty funny acctually. a lowbuget Australian zombiemovie with pretty nice cgi effects and a story that makes no sense whatsoever

There's even a scene in which the hero of the story battle's with zombie salmons.

First off, evolving zombies is a horrible idea.

The little i took the time to skim through seems alright though. Dennis Hopper plays the main villian, that should be interesting. Also John Leguizamo is one of the main characters, one of the ones who leaves the safe haven to search for supplies. I wonder how he'll play the part. I think he's a pretty good actor, but i hope he takes the part seriously and doesn't overdue the comedy.

The mentioned subplot where the humans think they've found a cure for the zombie disease sounds interesting. I guess i'll have to wait and see how it plays out, it could turn out to be a horrible.

Anyway, this will definately be one i check out.

IMHO it's been a crappy couple of years for movies, with a few exceptions of course.

I think the only movie that he is not the main villain is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and that in the heavily censored version. He even plays the king koopa :!:

After death, this virus is able to restart the heart of it’s victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believe to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during “resurrection.

That is awesome. Awesome to the max. Why does Cambodia get to have all the zombie action?

True, he does seem to play the villian most of the time. Ha, i remember when he played King Koopa in the Mario movie. And John Leguizamo was Luigi. Now they are on opposite sides again. Coincidence? I think not!

I didn't know there was a Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I've seen the shitty remake they did, with the chick from Dawson's Crack, or Seventh Heaven, or (insert another generic, teen kids with problems show here) but never knew there was a sequel. Was it any good?

There are 3 sequels to TCM, and then there's the remake.

Part 2 isn't bad (it's more horror/gore/slapstick than true horror), but none of them compare to the original. The last sequel is pretty interesting because it stars Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey, pre-fame and
fortune.

Dennis Hopper rules. My favorite Dennis Hopper work is the bit part he had in True Romance, as Christian Slater's rent-a-cop father. His single scene with Christopher Walken is probably one of the greatest sequences ever put on film.

Well, if you follow the more "modern" thinking (from the new Dawn of the Dead movie) about how the zombies work, then it's just a virus. A virus could evolve and do interesting things to its host... But I'm just playing devil's advocate, this is a stupid idea from the basis of just "evolving" zombies.

$1 says the movie ends with there being some sort of understanding formed between the zombies and the survivors, maybe even talking zombies who just want loving... And brains. - Colt
