ProtyX.

First time out of the vault
Hello evy1 :!:
i bought a copy of fallout (v1.1 it seems) but it turned out to be in russian. if some1 could send me the files in ../data/text/english/game/... it would be just great! ty already :!: (better send them to protyx@hotmail.com cause i check it more often)

btw, why are hotmails banned :?:

and could u please delete an account ProtyX (ProtyX not ProtyX. with a point) :?:

i doubt you can just send the entire language crap over

& hotmail isn't banned, you just can't create accounts with it at this point in time to limit abuse. you can simply mail an admin with your nick/hotmailadress & he will create an account for you.

hey its only 400kb or so! its small really so it is possible to send it! sounds will prolly be in russian still but i can live with it

How did you buy a game that "turned out" to be in Russian? If you had reason to believe it wouldn't be, take your issue to the retailer/seller/whatever. File requests are sort of frowned upon and I don't think it's the right forum for it anyway.

Comeon, hes asking for a simple textfile. The reasons fo him buying the russian version of the game is irrelevant unless its a pirate version wich I bet it is.

well.. i live in a country where u can never know what u buy.. :(
there might be text on the case saying :
Russian version - and it turns out to be english only
english- only russian and totally pirated crap
russian and english - and it turns out to be some kind of a hybrid with english text and russian letters :S
u can never know...

..and i live in kinda small town and go shopping to the capital city like once per month or 2 and not to the same shop

First, this goes by several assumptions.

1. That we support file requests of the core game.
2. That if you end up with the wrong item in the box, it must be a legit copy. Chances are, it's a pirated copy if the box says English and the game is in Russian.
3. That an official Russian print of Fallout was published. I know it was translated into a few other languages, but I believe Russian wasn't one of the official releases. I could be wrong, but I really doubt it would be in an English box. Sorry, but it sounds like a warez'd copy, especially if there's an /English/ folder in a Russian version.

My best advice would be to see if you could either get your money back, or look into importing games directly. It might cost a bit more, but at least you'll know it's a legit copy.

well... not exactly. russians have whole companies like 1c, russobit, fargus etc. translating games. its just that those translations aint in high quality. its the only thing u can buy in here except if u specially search for it in some special shops and pay 10 times the price u pay for those things.
but i aint asking for something illegal! i just need a few text files that would translate the game - i dont think thats illegal.

I would also doubt the legality of it as well.

Hence the difference between legit and warez copies. I think that would have been most obvious if the box is in English and the game inside is something else. That really isn't a publishing issue.

What you think and what constitutes reality are obviously two different things. I have already explained the forum's procedures on this and I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere for those files, or for that matter, a legit copy.
