Laser weapons, which do you prefer?

For whatever reason they decided to make laser weapons very common in Fallout 3. But because of this they made them about as strong as a normal gun. Do you like the new laser weapons or the old, harder to find, stronger ones?

I prefer a good, useful laser rifle like the Tri beam
