Its honestly hard to explain unless you have experienced it. Lets say that older games were DESIGNED around crts and look best on them. There is something missing from these old games when your play them on modern displays.

Nice gilded age ceiling.
Man I should have saved some of our CRT:s. We had a Hitachi 19" from 1998/99 that was really good and a couple of 17"s of other brands. Rest in peace.
