Legacy of the Ancients

Just curious whether anyone ever played Legacy of the Ancients.

A bit of an Ultima clone, but quite fun. I still have my original manual and code wheel.

I recall staying away from it because it looked very similar to Questron, which I did not like one bit.

And the DOS version made my eyes burn.

I played Legacy, but I don't think I did really like it that well, despite the fact that I was a big Ultima fan.

If I remember correctly, you depleted your food supply at an ungodly rate that made it very annoying.

I seem to remember starting on an island, and trying to get a boat. I do remember the code wheel, too.

I don't remember having too much difficulty with food consumption, although I do remember having to eat the corpses of creatures you killed, and sometimes they would make you sick. I think food became less and less of a problem as your character got more established, although early on it was something you had to pay attention to.

You start out in the Galactic Museum, and open the exhibits by inserting gemstone coins, like jade coins and sapphire coins.

I'm definitely going to have to go back and play it again now. :)
