Lenny bug

So I decided to play through the very most awesome game ever once again, for the first time in forever.

Played for some eight hours straight, barely noting the passage of time. Once evening came I remembered I had to do some clean up on my PC today, including some formatting. So I saved, copied my save slot for later usage and went on to bussiness.

It was only after reinstalling the system (and more importantly: FO2 ) that I noticed that the only save slot that I've bothered to back up was...

In the middle of the fight with Lenny in Merk's basement (or whatever that place is).

Well, now I'm stuck on the goddamn ring-thing. What's more annoying, I knew about that damned bug from the start.

Is there anything I could possibly do to get out of there?

What you can do is either restart the game, or use a character editor to make a character that was like the one you lost.

Did you read the stickies and made a forum search?

I didn't find anything on this using the search button or stickies (other than that Killap's patch fixes the bug, but as it also invalidates the save files, I'd be back at square one).

Isn't there some way to move the character between locations or at least between hexes (as there seems to be a staircase in that location) through editing the save files or something?
