Lenny won't join me.

Hello all. I have a problem were Lenny can't join. There doesn't seem to be any dialogue choice to make him join me. My character has 10 in charisma and has got 4 companions already. As far as I know I should be able to have 5. I don't have any negative perks.

My character also has high speech and high intelligence.

I'm using restoration project and killaps patch.

Fallout 2 btw.

Any ideas?

I don't know of any previous issues. The dialogue tree is to talk to Lenny about the Chosen One's ancestor running around and Lenny not being brave enough to join him. You then give him the chance he didn't take with the Vault dweller. If you're not getting this dialogue path then that's what the problem is. I can't remember what else CO and Lenny talk about, (probably not much).

Good point. The Wikia guide says "Reach 'Accepted' reputation with Gecko. Will not join childkiller".

To find out how many companions you can have, divide your charism per 2. If it gives a number with a coma, like 3,5 if you have 7 charism, then the inferior number matters(3).

There is a perk to have an additionnal char, which means you could have up to 6 companions if you have 10 charism.

Thanks for the replies.

My character has got very good reputation and enough charisma. Idolized by Gecko and good karma. No childkiller, gravedigger etc. The dialogue option to talk about the chosen one doesn't come up, which is strange.

I didn't talk to him until late in the game though, after saving the plant and even after getting the geck. Maybe that's why the dialoge failed to initialize?

No, that perk will only work if you have less than 10 Charisma, the game won't let you have more than 5 followers (without mods).

Lenny isn't that good though. Better than Myron or the Robodog, but not by much.
