Les Invasions barbares

John Uskglass

Venerable Relic of the Wastes
Just saw it for the first time. I wanted to see it a long time ago, but I feel asleep 10 min in.

Interesting look at post 1966 Quebec. It's sad to see a formerly interesting, growing, functioning society, devolve into one ruled by pedarests, cynics, atheists and communists :( I actually started crying in the scene with all the leftover Catholic stuff.

Remy is/was an extremely likeable character, I even forgave him the OMFG 20th CENTURY NOT THAT BAD and the OMFG YOU NATZI SYMPATHIZER I JUST SYMPATHIZE WITH COMMIES, and I almost vomited during the 'sensual socialist' shtick, but extremely likeable characters, great actors and a pretty good scrip save it from even the wierd editing.

Marie-Josée Croze is now up there with Monica Bellucci for most beautiful women alive. Damn, I should import Maelstrom. This, I think, was the first Quebeci move I've seen without her tits exposed in a while.

Loved it overall. I really should see Quebec.

you really have to see "le declin de l'empire americain" first to get the whole picture
