What files have we not touched yet?

SAVE.DAT

So who knows we can do with that file? (notice it is a .dat file)

Omg the traits list is in the wrong place.

Looks like it would be easy to write a utility to restore cars lost on the main map and other such things.

i have never seen a save.dat file... are we suppose to make our own?

like this:

0x011C 0x04 Additional gender. Apparently sex-change operations are still available in the post-nuclear world.

haha, this opens up all kinds of new role playing possibilities, like getting the men in FO to sleep with a lady-man, or maybe having both male and female options if you are a she-male.

Anyone see any errors so far?

Semi-coincidental. I had already translated it, and this thread prompted me to post on the wiki. One reason I hadn't before is that I've tested it only against the Mac version, and found a few differences with the original TeamX document. Some of the fields in the inventory item records are in different places. They also didn't mention the perks.

@ Per:
Thanks for catching the misplaced traits. I'm not sure the car location variable is correct, as it has never matched the actual map ID. It isn't the real cause of the 'disappearing car' bug anyway.

Each map the car can be on has a local variable saying if it's been created or not. Sometimes that gets set to true, but the car hasn't been made, and that's the bug. The game thinks the car exists, so it won't create it, and you can't use it to drive off the map, which would clear that variable. A fix is to hack the relevant .SAV file and clear it manually.
