These are some sketches I did of an idea I have for a suit of light power armor. Maybe for scouts or people who simply don't need as much protection. The idea I had behind it was it being more segmented like a lorica segmentata than the standard armor which involves large plates.
The head is composed of three sections: neck piece, side piece, and top cover. The cover opens upward on pneumatic springs when the catches are pressed. The face shroud clips to this cover and the side pieces. The neck piece (and thus the whole helmet) is connected to the rest of the armor through a material like kevlar which allows the area around the neck to breath, be flexible, and be protected. Air would enter the suit through the filter on the face shroud and through the hoses attached to the side piece to the power pack.
These are pretty rough sketches and this is only the second human figure that I've really tried drawing so sorry for the crudeness. Expect more, and possibly better, drawings in this thread later. You can see a bad drawing in paint of the face shroud in the Art Contest thread. Thanks. - Colt
