So what is the general consensus on this game?? I just found out about it. Like I said I haven't been around for a while.
I think it looks pretty good. Promissing.
Could use some guns tho. ;}
I have been wondering when a good TB RPG was going to come out. I just marginally like Arcanum though I have high hopes for the sequel if it happens. I am just now playing Arcanum for the first time and the Character developement just seems to be dirt slow to me. Kinda' empty. Anyways...
I has gotten so bad that I have gone back and begun replaying Baldur's Gate. I never played the second one because I never had a character to import from the first and somehow I do not want to play otherwise. Funny enough, I have owned the second for nearly two years now. I was never drawn to play any of the other games using the same engine.
I thought Wizards and Wariors was kinda shitty too.
I have replayed the Fallout games so many times that I can not do it anymore.
Same with JA2.
So the conclusion is that there is really nothing out there for me right now. Nothing decently new anyways....
Now this game using the SPECIAL system could fix all this. I was just wondering what pros and cons you guys know of concerning it.

>>>It is berry skarry faiting tha snake.

If you were wondering when a good TB RPG would come out, don't hope to much on Lionheart. Last time i checked, they were still holding on to totaly real-time combat (not even with a pause function). It could be a great game though, allthough the real-time thingy makes me shiver and think of things like Diablo, ie not an RPG.

I've been eyeing Icewind Dale II in my local software store and it looks interesting ... but I just can't get motivated to buy it.

I enjoyed the first one and the expansion. But that series was so linear ... one of the elements I enjoyed best about Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 was the fact you could go anywhere, at anytime.
I mean, sure, if you wandered too far to the west, early in the game, you'd get eradicated by an Enclave patrol. But it was fun running over to Gecko, getting a mission or a holodisk, then running back to Vault City and so on. I miss that.

Another thing: I'm getting sick and tired of all the crap from the 3D crowd. Look, 2D is not dead. It's still the best format for certain types of games.
3D is great for some games. But 2D still sells, if the graphics and gameplay are done right -- Interplay seems to think so, or they wouldn't have made Icewind Dale II, right?

IWD II is pretty much a "slam dunk" game that has minimal effort and time put into it while bearing a full price tag. It's mainly just another attempt to fleece the D&D fanboys, stupid as many of them are.

Strange thing is tho, BIS is publicly saying that IWD2 is a slam dunk crap which they put out just to get a quick fix of cash. Yet the D&D fans love it...go figure..
