Loading fallout 1 story,locations, with a f2 installation?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Recently I have tried playing fallout 1 and due to having windows 7 I got into a lot of problems making my fallout 1 replaying almost impossible.
I also installed fallout 2 but with this game I had no problem, no black screens etc
I would like to know if its possible to load the story and locations of fallout 1 and load it with fallout 2, and if possible how hard would it be to do so?

I've never heard of anything like this being done. It may not be possible, especially since even if you were somehow able to convert the files many of the items function quite differently.

You may want to try this for problems when playing FO1 or 2-- it worked out nicely for me, fixed color/shading problems, etc.

This has been asked many a time.

It is currently been worked on, I believe, but there are so many obstacles to overcome, that it will be some time before it can truly be played.

I don't have windows 7 (XP) but isnt there a " run in windows X mode?" built in somewhere?

Thanks for your replies.
I have tried many "fixes" for my color and black screen problems, every single one of them failed to solve my problems, I managed to fix the corrupt colors by having windows 7 resolution screen opened whenever I want to play, but the other big problem, black screen is no good, I can't seem to work around it.
This guy is also having the same problem...

Anyway I guess I will wait for a workaround.

How often does the screen black out? I've gotten it before as well, but only a couple of times during my entire Fallout career.

This one for general compatibility with NT6 (Vista/Seven/2008). Solves palette problems and allows to store saved games in the game installation directory even if it's under Program files.
And that one for screen blackouts.

Not a good idea since Sfall for FO1 has limited functionality. Default setting won't help to solve mandala's problems. And DirectX mode, AFAIR, will break cut-scene playback.

I already tried both, sfall and that one alchemist posted for screen blackouts.
I solved the color problem, but the blackouts continue :(

but the blackouts continue
I hope, you have used Screen Refresh properly? Message window of the utility supposed to be open in the background all the time while you play the game. And I'm not sure about compatibility between Screen Refresh and Sfall or HiRes patch if you try to use both simultaneously.

I used it properly yes, I uninstalled sfall but hresolution was still installed. I will try again with a clean installation and then report back.

Edit- update - Doesn't work, I still have the same problem.

I've just tested Screen Refresh along with HiRes patch and everything runs right and smooth. No blackouts and no conflicts. Moreover, when I switch HiRes patch to 16-bit colour, blackouts cease even without assistance of Screen Refresh. I use HRP v2.2b, try it.

New problem, f1hresolution patch is not correctly installed, I extract the hresolution files to fallout folder and start the game, but in the menu I dont see the option for 8 or 16 bit.
I have patch 1.2 installed, so the exe is compatible with the patch or so I think.

And did you run "f1_res_patcher.exe" on the fallout folder after extraction?

Nop
I installed it and switched to 16 bit, still continue to have blackouts.
I guess I will buy a new game online.
