Lockup during intro movie - Fallout 1

Hi everyone.

I have windows XP, and the GSP Fallout Collection (since my disks were lost in a move somewhere a few years ago).

I have been playing Fallout and dealing with the "black outs" just fine, but tonight I ran into a new problem.

I started up the game, clicked through the Interplay logo without a problem. I tried to click through the Intro Movie (where it starts off with Brian Fargos name), and the FMV box turns jello lime green and the intro stops. The only sound playing is the "gusting wind".

Hitting the escape key closes the program.

I have tried each of the following, running the game after each one, with the same result.
Disabling my video card.
Turning off my hardware acceleration,
uninstalling the game, making sure all directories are gone, reinstalling the game,
running it without mods,
and in Windows 98 compatiability mode.

This is quite perplexing to me, as it was working fine just the other night (again, excluding the annoying blackouts). I have not installed any other software or made any hardware changes.

Any thoughts?
 
Well guys, I got it fixed. Apparently something just went super wonky with my video drivers.

I completely uninstalled my video card drivers, removed the card from Hardware manager, reinstalled them... and then everything was working fine.
 
Something like that happened to me as well.
I had time to reinstall the game a couple of times before I realized all that was needed was to restart my computer.
