Ok, this is just to introduce the bad guys to the rest, kind of a reference source.

Oprezki (or Opreski) -

The Oprezki are the vanguard or the Other's army, it's principle raiding force and the means through which the Others terrorize.

Who are the Others? Little is known save that they presumably come from the South, somewhere below the Plague Jungles to the South. Little is known about the Others save that they are supposedly a relatively new force to those lands bringing with them new weapons and ideologies of rule. It is believed that the Others subscribe to a nihilistic ideology that justifies the destruction of the weak and the empowerment of the strong. Although often fluent in local languages, their native language is a harsh tongue with a virtually illegible written language.

The Oprezki were used primarily to terrorize. They use and raise horses for quick movement throughout the lands and are ruthless in their destruction. Communitites that resist are usually wiped out, their residents either disappearing, their bodies left high crucified, or their heads left in piles of skulls. THey usually attack suddently, at night.

The Oprezki are usually lightly armed and armored, riding horses that are also lightly armored. Weapons are usually include rifles, carbines, pistols, swords and lances. Larger groups are known to bring with them light mortars, rocket launchers and machineguns.

Oprezki units are usually organized as such-
Troop = 10 riders (1 will be a sniper)
5 Troops = 1 company
2 Companies = 1 Column (in addition a column will normally include a weapons/engineer squad with three mortars and machineguns) (abotu 120 men)
5 Columns = 1 regiment (4 regular and 1 lancer/rifle column) = 600 men
2 regiments = 1 brigade (1200 men)
3 brigades = 1 division (3,600 men)

League of Eastern Vaults

Whether the League of Eastern Vaults is the League of the Four Horsemen or is merely a part of the League of Four Horsemen is unknown.

What is known is that the League of Eastern Vaults is a collection of communitites centered around surviving vaults that operate through a federated oligarchy. The League Vaults stretch as far as pre-war florida, as far west as pre-war Lousianna and as far north as pre-war Virginia, forming a rough triangle of the Southeastern part of the US.

It is believed that this area once held approximately 30 vaults. However a number of vaults (the Charleston Vault for instance) were destroyed during the war. Others (such as the New Orleans Vault) survived but have retained total or partial autonomy for the League. However most of the Vaults either voluntarily or under threat of violence joined the League.

Each Vault essentially conquered or subjugated the local territories, changing the local economies to fit their needs. Having stored vast databanks, the vaultdwellers were quick to begin creating a new society. This society is based on the a caste system in whcih the vaultdwellers and their heirs are the dominant classes with all others being subordinate. Subordinates include poor peasants and traders as well as the vast slave populations which work plantations and factories, with the vaultdwellers under vaultdweller domination. The vaultdwellers don't rule through violence alone, but advocate an evengelical faith that recognizes the vaultdwellers as the sacred caretakers as chosen by God, the subordinates as being blessed to suffer and thus find salvation, and a mission to convert through crusade.

Despite this, the League has not been adventerous, but have been keeping mostly to themselves. When venturing out, they tend to use a corp of spies and make shadowy deals with local elites to expand their influence through indirect means. When violence is necessary, they prefer to utilize networks of raiders, slavers or mercenaries to do the work for them, preferring to remain as hidden puppet masters.

However, the League does have it's own military force. Relying more on superior technology and firepower, League troops often go to battle with more advanced weapons, sometimes including power weapons, and armor (usually combat armor but occassionally power armor). The most impressive force of the League troops are the Janissary forces. These are soldiers raised since childhood to fight for the League. Former slaves they have been indoctrinated to serve the cause, are loyal to the faith and known for their tenacity and violence.

More forthcoming.
