Lost Car

I was out cruising around in my new hoopty, but was ambushed by a pack of shady Jet addicts. I quickly brought things to a suitably bloody end and fled the scene.

Trouble is, I left on foot, forgetting about my new wheels. Somewhere out there in the desert, my car waits for me, but I have no idea where it is.

How can I get back to it?

There should be a green circle denoting your car.

Strange. I thought that, when you leave a random encounter on foot, you automatically get back into you car...

Ok. Thanks for the tips guys, but unfortunately they have not resolved my situation.

This is frustrating as hell, is there a way (or a cheat, basically) to make my car magically show up in one of the towns?

i remember that happening to me a few times.... if you have the latest patch it should fix that though...

Well, as far as I know, you are screwed.

The car is one of the most buggy part of the game, next to too many items bug, and caravans.

So unless you have a green circle that shows up where you parked it in the wild(which usually shows up whenever you are out of gas in the wild), you are out of luck. I don't know if the 1.05 patch fixes this or not.

1.05 sucks for changing some items' locations, before installing read wthe applied changes.

The car's pretty strange. I remember once, I think I ran out of gas, and it teleported to a nearby town. Maybe you should check the nearby towns.

The case is: Usually, and desirably, when you leave the random encounter, you automatically resume the journey with the car. However, should the car run out of fuel, it will be marked with a small green circle on the world map and you resume your travel on foot.

Sometimes a bug occurs at this point, making you switch to foot moblity , but at the same time plotting the green circle outside the visible world map making it inaccessible.

Try re-entering the location immediately at the same point you left it. Or, you may want to load the game , alt+tab to Windows, and delete the Den maps in the data directory (AFAIR these are named DENBUS1.SAV and DENBUS1.SAV ), then re-enter Den to find your car back at Smitty's garage. Make sure you are not in the Den when deleting maps. I never tried this out though so I don't know whether it works.
