Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
On the Esmaldone group
I was night and in his rest Esmaldone could feel someone approaching, sneaking in, he suddenly awakens. He sees Koch next to him, he is on watch, the others are asleep.
-Everything alright sir?- Said Koch.
-Yes I’m fine, just thought someone was coming.-
-No one coming here sir.-
Esmaldone is death tired, but can’t get to sleep well. He then decides to make a report on his log, so he takes his computer from his arm pocket.
Sun was beginning to rise, but aside from a little, almost imperceptible light on the environment it was almost the same as night.
-Not much sun with this whether.- Esmaldone says.
-What sir?- Replies Koch.
-Nothing, get the men ready to move.-
-Yes sir.-
Fuller, Koch, Esteves and Esmaldone leave the ruined building and begin to move. Street by street, corner by corner, as tirelessly trained before, slowly but surely they move. A strange mist covers the streets, at the far the sea could be herd, they were not too far from the coast, on the opposite direction thunders could be herd, or was it bombs, or both, difficult to say, the horizon made noises accompanied by lights.
The most valuable equipment in this conditions was the thermal/low light equipment, although Esmaldone wasn’t wearing it, he rather had his peripheral vision favored to have better control of his men. He trusted they would see the enemy if there were any around.
The idea was to avoid contact at all cost, and get to a position north of the ruined city, away from the beach defenses and known enemy positions, but unless other friendly forces in the area had been more successful they were stranded there.
-Ok, we move together. Koch, you take point.-
On the Walters group
Walters leaded his men trough the ruined and abandoned streets, knowing there could be an enemy after every corner. But were they all alone out there? If there were any surviving forces left it would be a good Idea to link up with them. But where? He was sure the lieutenant and other soldiers survived, he saw them heading into the city, looking for cover. Would they had made it? The more logical move for any remaining forces in this circumstances would be to move away from the enemy, there he would find whatever forces were left on the area.
And so he moved North. –Alright men, we are moving, keep your eyes open to any enemy patrols, you know the drill.-
