Another question, again on a Mac running OS 10.2.8, G4 powerbook, relatively new machine w/ lots of memory, etc.
When I wish to stop playing (I know: why God?) either Fallout or FO2, going through the menus and selecting exit game from the main screen with the powerarmor figure at right, the game quits but stalls partway through so that I get a black screen. The game essentially freezes on the black screen, such that the only way to get out of either game (again: why God?) is to turn the computer off and on again. None of the tricky Mac application killers seem to work either.
I've installed the current patch, reloaded the game, started over with new games, etc. I've been playing this way for months now. I know, I'm a greenhorn.
The best solution I've found is to keep a corrupted game saved in one slot that the game doesn't recognize as corrupted. When I want to stop playing I load that game and the thing crashes. Voila! I'm back to my desktop.
There must be a better way. Anyone else have this problem?
