Mad Max Bad Cop

First time out of the vault
I was going to start work on this idea I had today but found I was just terrible at it. But I was thinking maybe I'd throw it out there on this forum and see if anybody finds it a worthy project. But I was thinking some Mad Max characters would seem particularly awesome if they could be done. The one I had in mind mostly as it would probably be easiest is the "bad cop" from Lord Humungus's gang in Road Warrior

http://explosive.today.com/files/2009/02/mad-max-poster-1.jpg This is actually the original Mad Max movie poster but figured it could make a good reference for this critter...(maybe even be turned into scenery poster for the game) I can't seem to find actual pictures of the character from Road Warrior...but essentially he's clad in leather with a white helmet. (Could possibly be made using the combat armors helmet)

Wez from Road Warrior may make a good Fallout critter as well.

As would Master and Blaster from Beyond Thunder Dome. Might be doable using a Super Mutant and one of the midgets as bases?

I dunno...it seems like there is a lot of talent on this site. (I was working on making some bald guy frms....but quit when I discovered people here were already leagues ahead of me) Figured I'd just throw those ideas out into the open...if they're good by all means run with them...if its a terrible idea...then feel free to call me an idiot.

(Also on a side note...when I was browsing the forums I saw a thread on different colored robes... all links in the thread were dead...was wondering if these still existed somewhere)

Well, most priority would be to finish the ones that are mostly done by now. That means, bald dude and long hair dude. It would be really stupid to start something new while the rest isn't finished yet. (because of this way, they will never get finished)

If you want to make critters, help is always welcome, you could help with the long hair dude or the bald dude, just post there if you're interested.

Grayswandir has a gizillion critter color variations, check the threads for download links he may have posted, if they are dead, you can also check the art repository (not much there though).

Yeah...I understand there is alot of work going on with other stuff. I was just throwing out some future ideas that might be cool.

The links were all dead...and I didn't find them n the art repository either...oh well.

As far as helping out...I would probably try...but I'm really slow at doing it and not nearly as good as the other people here. But I'll read more on the bald dude project and see if its something I would like to help out with.

But as far as my ideas...would they be something cool for future projects or do they seem lame?

Turning it into scenery poster would be really good, I think we'll take it for FOnline right away. Lexx?

The ideas don't sound that bad, I'd say. The only problem are the resources, as always.

If we can make it fit like the other poster, no problem with that.

But we should try to avoid to include as much shitty pop culture references as Fallout 2 has done.

I think a Mad Max scenery poster isn't a bad pop culture reference to use really...Half the shit in fallout is based off of Mad Max to begin with.

I'm glad my ideas aren't terrible. I could probably pull the bad cop off...its just when I go to recolor the helmet from the combat armor...I have no idea what I'm doing...are there any good tutorials on recoloring stuff? I'll look around for some but if any body has any good tips let me know.

Anyway...the work I've been seeing on this forum is fantastic. I've been lurking this site for a few years and just recently noticed this surge in new critters. I think any fallout mod is going to be way better when these new critters are done and can be used to reduced the clone effect.

I've started work on this character...I got my inspiration from The Blaster half of Master-Blaster in Beyond Thunder Dome...before I get too carried away I figured I'd get some criticisms. I don't have any animations yet...I attempted to make a custom fidget animation but couldn't find the right frames in the super mutants to do what I want so I'm going to have to start over I think...anyway...For now I'll take advice on the critter in general.

When I'm done I want to do something like this and maybe other Midget variations.

Heh, creative, but it looks very weird, i don't know what to make of it.

Aahhh!!, how cute, look at him with his little leather jacket and all! , just kiddin' man, it looks good, and it would be interesting to have some variety there...keep it going!! :ok:

(I actually had the same idea to make a master-blaster critter a while ago... now all you have to do is just "mount" the little man into the supermutant's back :P ).

The leather jacked dwars looks somehow cool. You should concentrate on him first, imo because he is usefull for other mods too. :>

Certainly interesting concept :D

I'm not sure about the Blaster, but the Master (the Midget) would be overall more interesting, as Lexx said. Not that I'm against the other, that's excellent too. It's just the appeal of that midget in the leather apparel.
