Main Plot for a F3 mod set in Alaska/Yukon/BC/Seattle

Blue Eagle

First time out of the vault
Scene: The Anchorage front line, ruined power armors strewn about with remains of Chinese combat armor, human bones still inside.

(Camera zooms in a tiny screen inside one of the power armor helmets as it flickers on.)

T-51b power armor wakeup date reached. No commands issued for 300 years.

List primary objectives:

3. Preserve life of occupant.
(camera shows empty skull eye socket next to the screen for a moment.)
No life signs detected. Occupant deceased.
Attempt to locate new occupant.

2. Complete given mission.
Mission: Defend Alaska from Chinese invaders.
Status: Reports indicate invading force has been driven back.
Mission Completed.

1. Preserve the United States of America.
Status of United States: Unknown.
Initiating.

(Camera shows field of ruined power armors slowly beginning to stir, and then attempting to stand and walk, or, failing that, crawl.)

Hoards of empty power armors Looking for new "hosts" to help them rebuild the power of the united states.
Maybe not menacing, but creepy as hell.

I posted this as part of a villains thread on the Bethsoft forums,
But I figured I post it here as the plot for a mod.
For a game that we know nothing about yet.
Perhaps I'm a little overeager?

Atchualy I think the idea is cool, but the visuals you give are great I can Imagen what it would look like.

Sorry, I simply don't think that having power armours that are computerised to this degree fits well with the setting. Too much terminatorish

Not if you think about it, power armour was incredibly advanced, and in Fallout 2 there was the tanker that was running on auto pilot from sanfransisco, and there are the semi intelligent robots all over the dam place.

Yeah, but I don't Power Armor is supposed to be uhm... intelligent. I mean, if it was, why the hell did they put soldiers in it in the first place?

I was using intelligence loosely, Power armour might have a limited amount of intelligence or run off some protocol's if it has been left in a idle state for a wile, although I do think it would have to be a rely basic intelligence.

The problem is that machine inteligences in Fallout universe are very big computers or brains in jars. Also, PA reactor fuel lasts only for 100 years.

I thought it was 150? besides I think that is only PA that you get from the brotherhood after being repaired, also what about the fact if could have been ruining in power saver mode for a long time that could have why the fuel run for over 100 years.

Necron?

I think some of Bethesda's staff is quite capable of terminatorishness

..
Are you actually comparing a simple point-to-point route to an artificial intelligence? What the fuck?

PS: Those robots never worked without a 'hive mind'. Every 'intelligent robot' was hooked up to a central computer.

Retro-Futuristic frozen mammoth robot hive mind in Alaska? with massive heat from the nukes finally clearing the ice off of it so it can once again resume work!!!!!!

Great idea. It could cause a migration of supermutants which would cause a migration of raiders and a group of BoS soldiers in cat-like power armor would have to fight them :P ...

Well, thats just the backbone "problem" that forms the plot.
You show up in a small bear-rat hunter trading post in the
Middle of the Canadian wilderness one day. No backstory,
no explanation. Complete and total character freedom.
Your choices throughout the game entirely build your characters personality.
Instead of just good and evil recorded by karma,
you could have your character's greater emotional state taken into
account, more like a variable version of karma traits.
Save children, and your character gets a "paternal" or "maternal"
rating. Too much sex, and eventually you go from sexpert and such
until you achieve status of "sex addict" with an amusing picture of
the pipboy dressed as bill clinton, at the oval office desk, holding a cigar,
with a beret poking up from under the desk.
"You just cant get enough!"

You can either ignore the armor "shells" entirely, Seek to destroy them, or use them to build an army.

As for the intelligence of the shells, they begin to form a sort of distributed computing network. A power armor, in order to to perform
the deceivingly complex task of emulating their uses movement, would need some degree of processing power. And for tactical purposes,
would most likely have some some of highly adaptable network
between them. So as time goes on, the shells begin to form one hungry, confused beast of many bodies.

.. wasn't that going to be the plot of Fallout: PoS 2?
