Making a DVD

Well, I've got a 1.5 GB or so video file I want to burn on a 4.7 GB DVD. Seems like kind of a waste of space, so I was wondering how you make the DVD playable on a DVD player? If I understand it correctly, you have to unpack the file several times, making it a lot larger. I do not know, however, how to do that.

I use nero vision express for video files. Works pretty well. You can find trial versions around the net.

If I rip a dvd video(vob files) I use instantcopy.

Generaly though I think some basic atleast DVD burning software usualy comes with the burner you buy, unless you get a pre-built computer.

Since It's just one DVD you want to burn you could dl a demo of a good one to get it done right the first time, then uninstall the demo.
