Making a game...

First time out of the vault
It's online, text-based (Any fellow MUD gamers?), relatively simple, may or may not have stolen mechanics from EVE, planets from Endless Space, and (possibly) trading from Elite, and written sloppily in Java (FSM, help me with this garbage collection), and it's for IT Club.

Right now, I'm writing warping from sector to sector, mining, etc.

Combat is not really needed, but I still haven't figured that out.

Do any of you have simple ideas?

Also, inb4 you shouldn't do it alone.

Never played a mud, is this something like mirc with game features?

As long as you're having fun (i doubt it, as you have to use java), you can:

Sort of. It's a multiplayer RPG system with a text-based parser interface. Like Zork.

I've played them in the past, but I couldn't nowadays. Can't play things I can't pause at will anymore.
