map editor: 160 map limit

В непатченном маппере нельзя выставить параметр для сетки выхода больше 160.
Возможно у тебя уже пропатченный маппер, или там общ. кол. карт вообще не играют роли.

thanks.

EDIT:
Now I can use up to 255 maps. sorry for being greedy, but is there a way to make this limit even higher? I am using the Megamod files and the last map there is 255(dark cave). is it because of this limit?

I, too, hope someone can figure out a way to go past the 255 map limit. But, @Zorchar, you can still use some of those map locations. There are a lot of them included for a mod that isn't included in the MM yet (Fallout Forever, or Dominion, I can't remember). So, you could still use 187 - 194, 206 - 212, 245, 247, and 248. Those maps were never completed (or, if they were, needed a lot of work) and are supposed to be Fallout 1 locations, aged 80 years to be used in Fallout 2.

Then also keep in mind, if you get really desperate, that maps have three elevations. You could use those unused levels if you run out, as well.

Thanks MIB88.

I share your hopes about the figure 255. Been tryin' to find some reference in a map converted to .txt, but to no avail (I am an amateur modder at best).
I do, in fact, want to do the exact same thing, aging Fallout 1 settlements :) on top of other made up maps.
Can I change the map numbers of random encounters, to be 256+, so I can use their numbers? will it affect other stuff?

BTW, non-related, can you please explain how, in Megamod, did you increase worldmap size to 8 squares of the Y axis?(I know about the horizontal option). It's just what I need actually. There is just a minor bug that in some of the extended parts of the map, revealing a square will also reveal 5 or 6 other squares in the immidiate west.

EDIT:

Aaaaand... If you happen to have the converted Fallout 1 to Fallout 2 maps, I would really appriciate you uploading them. Since again, my modding skills are sketchy. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that if you try to use a number above 255, then either your mapper will warn you or your game will just crash. I have a vague feeling that I learned that by doing it once.

Of course. Easy, actually. I stole the files from the XP Mod! That was it! Easy, right? ;)
Really, I did just use the files from that mod. There was a bug, initially, where part of the map was inaccessible and someone else (I really can't remember who at the moment) volunteered to help fix it.

Those maps were part of the Fallout Forever / Dominion mod. You can grab it from here:

Keep in mind that those maps were either unfinished or needed some work.

Good luck with the modding.
