Mapper incompatiblity? w/ Fallout v1.02 US GOG

Reverof

The epitome of confusion.
I decided to open up mapper and give it a go to try to learn how to use it, however, I quickly realized that I had a problem whenever an error box popped up that says the following "You're trying to use SFall with an incompatible version of fallout was expecting 'Fallout 2 v1.02 US'" Underneath that message states that fallout2.exe was an unexpected size. I opened up my Fallout 2 (Vanilla install; I moved my old game directory to a different folder and opened GOG Galaxy and got a clean install) and found it to be up to date. Am I failing to acknowledge something. Sorry if this is a rhetorical question.

I've had the same issue when I tried to mess with the mapper a while back. I never understood that, either. Maybe someone has an answer about it, because I'd like to try to use it as well.

Try unpacking fallout2.exe file from official 1.02d patch and put it in your Fallout 2 installation directory.

I guess the problem is you installed the mapper in the same folder with fallout2.exe. When the mapper starts, it would try to load sfall's ddraw.dll. And obviously it's not the correct exe for sfall. You might try install the mapper in a subfolder, at least that's how I setup the mapper with my FO2 + RP 2.3.3.

Good idea! Thanks, did you do anything else special to get it to work?

Is the mapper and F49 city limit patch still on this site? I didn't seem to find them around in the download section.

I think you can. I wonder what happened to the files that use to be on the original site? I know there was a bunch of stuff on Atomic Gamer, but I just found out that site has been gone since the past July, or something like that.
