Marcus problem...

Jinroh

First time out of the vault
Hello,

After some years I deceided to finish Fallout 2 one more time. But it seems Marcus gives me some troubles...

I've accomplished the air purifier, missing people and air conditioner quest. But Marcus still won't join my team.

Did I miss something or is it once again one of the many bugs of this game?

There are some more conditions: you can't have too low a karma, you can't be a Childkiller, things like that. Is your CH high enough to recruit another NPC?

My karma is 603, I don't have any status and my charisma is 5.
Any idea? In my previous game (european version) around.... 6 years ago I never had any problem like that...

How many people are already in your party, then?

Maximum amount of followers is CH/2, rounded down.

Mystery solved.

Go get yourself a pair of cool mirror shades, this will help ;)

Really? I was pretty damn sure that the maximum allowed was 3...

Or was it because of that damn unlucky dog in my previous game?

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll try asking him again.

The maximum is 3 - if your Charisma is 6 or 7. If you've 10 CH, you can take on 5 followers.

Also, you can gain a Magnetic Personality Perk, which gives +1 companion (but only if your CH is below 10)

Ok, I see. I didn't know that, thanks for the info.

By the way, something happenned to my luck. I began at 5 and now have 4. Is it due to some kind of bad event?

Also, is there any way to raise it up again? Fallout 1 style, talking to someone or something like that?

You probably took the Zeta scan in the NCR. And nope, there is no way to raise it again. Unless you select the Increase Luck perk.

So this scan is really useless...
Well, not really. There's also a chance your Luck gets increased. But it's entirely random, so heh.

Pay attention!

Fallout 1 has no limit, but only 3 permanent companions + Dogmeat.
