Mario 3 in 11 mins!!

Mario 3 on the ol' nintendo consoles is one of the best games i played. I played it fairly often over a span of 8 years. When i saw this video i was speechless.

Despite my amazement there are some things that i don't think add up in the video, but i'm not sure if i should start listing, since there might be a chance no one really played the game here. Are there any experienced mario 3 players out there that think there's something's wrong with the video?

After watching the last part one second time, I noticed that the ship moves faster than usual but the cannonballs moves at regular speed. That's strange.

Also, He uses the first flute and gets to choose between world 2,3, and 4. Then he uses the second one and get to choose world 8. Wouldn't it make more sense that the second flute takes him to the section where he gets to choose world 5, 6, or 7?
 
Hmm, I remember that bit as well... I was too busy drooling over how fast the fucker was going though.
 
Morimoto @ Yarokinasu finisihed it with the speed set to 1/30 and used save states a lot, especially before each dangerous area.
 
Despite the cheating, his Mario skills are insane.
 
11 minutes times 30...

Holy shit, he was playing that for at least 330, or 6.5 hours! :shock:

And that's not even including the times where he made a mistake and had to back up!
