Masters and Teachers

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Ok, you spend you character points, create a character, then you get enough experience to advance a level and get MORE character points to spend on skills. Any skill you want that's on the list... Wouldnt it add a dimension of realism and depth to the game if you actually had to find and befirend Fallout NPC's who could train and teach your character. Anyone can start off with a firearm skill, but to bcome a crackshot you might need a Master, or to learn nuclear engineering or to become a medic. It;s not enough just to read a few textbooks.
These teachers can add depth to the game by requiring payment for their instructioin, gifts of rare and expensive equipment, and side quests. They also can require cjaracter to take sides in local conflicts. All for a few character points.

would somebody do a Fallout 3 with the Fallout engine, no new things added, just a new story and unforgettable dialogue?

please?

I am NOT asking for a new engine, Just realism in a place buked back to stoneage, where knowledge would be at a premium. Why anyone wouldn't slap together a new story using an existing engine, is beyond me, given the demand. I would spend a few hundred bucks on a new CRPG in the vein of Fallout or Planescape. Who wouldn't?

Lots of people.

Also., the Fallout engine isn't exactly the easiest engine to mod.
