Melee, Any good?

Is there any use for melee combat?
In fallout 2, I used the mega powerfist to hit the head to knock enclave soldiers unconscious.
But know, since I can't really aim in CTB, is there any other use for it?

You can aim if you hit the circle on the lower rigth corner of the hand-'leg' tab (shortcut 't').It have a use (a very good one) on the sleeping enemies.But if you ask my opinion don't ever ever ever tag-it.
