merging maps?? should i tell how?

Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
i have figured out how to "merge" 2 maps together ( ie copy one level from one map to another map.. )

would a tutorial on this be any use to anyone..??
 
Gravedigging this, and for a reason.

Jargo's been trying to merge two sets of maps. He 's succeeded with one,. but the second one crashes. Calleb's been trying to export the text file himself and got something like this:

And then the mapper crashed.

What could the issue be? Is there a cap on the number of items or something like that?
 
Is the mapper running in debug mode? If not, make a batch file debug.bat containing this:

SET DEBUGACTIVE=LOG
mapper2.exe

And make sure mapper2.cfg has these:

output_map_data_info=1
show_load_info=1
show_script_messages=1
show_tile_num=1

After crashing, the debug.log usually gives some info about what went wrong.

the tutorial was ment purely for combining the tiles and walls etc from 2 maps.. not all the scripts and critters and everything...

they might be causing the problem...

Thanks ColJack. Calleb, do you have critters and scripts in the map? Have we tried removing them?
 
also, looks like you have a critter joining your team that has no script assigned to it.. ( set a critters team to 0 and it's a party member is it???? no idea, just guessing.. )
