Metal Gear Solid 4

To me, MGS has always promised more than it delivered so I'm not terribly excited anymore.
And Vamp.. why'd they have to bring back Vamp? He was just so lame.

Vamp was lame if you're talking about a more serious game, but this game is "anime meets splinter cell".

It's going to have some cheesiness in it, that's just how the MGS games play.

No. He's lame even for that. He danced like a dork (I HATE flamenco), he screamed like a sissy and he hid behind little girls while fighting you.

Bah. Vamp's a wannabe. He needs to learn from Konami's vampire-related franchise. Alucard would kick his butt. So would Soma for that matter.
Yes I like white haired prettyboys. Sue me.

I always liked vamp, because he is supposed to be overpowered, sadistic, and pathetic.

and he is all three to me.

I am personally saving $60 just to buy that game the second it comes out...

It's also probablt going to be the first Metal Gear Solid game where someone will want to play as Raiden...

That in and of itself is amazing.

This is something, I do not wish to play.
I liked Metal Gear Solid 1. 2 Was okay. 3's Survivalist style gameplay just felt flawed and it answers no questions in terms of story. Not for me at least.
Besides, to play it, I would have to go to my friend's house and play it on her $600 blu-ray player.

I had MGS II sons of liberty but the part where you're supposed to carry the damned chicken girl under water was so damned difficult that I gave up after 50 tries and sold the game back to Gamestop.

I'm saving $60 to not play this game when it comes out, and be that much richer than the weirdos who get it.

I might buy it some time after it's released when Konami release the inevitable MGS 4: Now With Actual Content Edition (see MGS 2: Substance and MGS 3: Subsistance).

WTF is up with the porn mags and shit? And the crotch grabbing. And floor humping.

immersion, yo.

hahaha.

I have no intention of getting this game, but it look's like I'll make one of my friends get it and let me play it :P

MGS is a good series. I like the detail they put into them. There is always something you can do you don't know about.

I thought MGS3 had a crap load of annoying things in it though. The whole healing and camo system that required you to go to the menu every second was annoying as hell. The camera was pretty ridiculous for a stealth game too.

Still it was a very good game. I'd definitely get MGS4 is I had a PS3.

Interesting to see that Vamp is apparently more hated than Raiden, whom is usually flamed to death the second you mention him.

However, it is very wrong to compare Vamp to Alucard, or any other vampire for that matter, because Vamp isn't vampire at all. He's bi-sexual and practices vampirism, but he's not a vampire still.

Raiden: So that's why they call him Vamp.
Solid Snake: What? No! Vamp isn't for vampire, it's because he's bisexual.

Personally, I love MGS, I've played them all from MG/MG: Solid Snake to MGS3 (For the exception of MPO since I don't own a PSP).

But yeah, crotch grabbing is something that has been implemented in MGS ever since MGS2 and I'm glad it makes a return. MGS games has always been full of humour and details, yet never losing it's more serious nature.

As for MGS3 not shedding any new light in terms of story, this is just plain wrong. What MGS3 did was it told us some background story for Solid Snakes father (Which was continued in MPO) and shed more light on this overly shadowed organisation known as the Philosophers (Later known as The Patriots, or la-li-lu-le-lo, if you like).

I honestly don't believe that there will be a "subsisistence" re-release of the game since Kojima really wants to move on to other games.

Cheers,
Caldera

The biggest douchebag in the universe...Dracula backwards. It's the name of every boring vampire character in every anime/manga of all time.
