Mission 3 Question

I don't know if this is the correct forum to place this in (since I just came to the site tonight), but I'm having problems with part of mission 3. Well, I guess that's an over-statement. Basically, I've finished it, but at the very end of the mission in the raider leader's place, there is a safe. I can't open it (lock picking just says "Looks Difficult"), and I haven't found any sort of key or code to open it. My lock-picking skill (for my best character) is only 49%, so I understand that I might have a tough time opening some things. Anyone out there know how high your skill needs to be to pick a safe, or is there something that I missed on the map that will let me open it?

Or maybe I can blow it up? Anyone know if that's possible?

Incidentally, the door to the building has the same problem - "Looks difficult." That's what makes me think I missed a key somewhere, but as far as I know, I killed every raider and faound every chest-like container on the map.

Help me if you can, please!

i think you just need to pick it... when i did it the character had 66% lockpick skill and set of lockpicks, which i think can be found around the base somewhere. im not sure but i think you can come back to these places, and there wasnt anything mission related in the safe (some ring pulls, a book about traps, and something else).

Thanks for the info. I moved on to mission 4 and now have a character with 70% lockpick or thereabouts, so now I'll go and see if I can open the safe. I knew I could always come back, but I was worried that the Brotherhood might loot the whole place. Guess I'll find out soon enough....

Here's a fun little tip (in case you never noticed):

Some characters give you the option to "Gamble" on a trade. If you save beforehand and just keep on repeating the gamble/reload if unsuccessful, you can get all of their items for free. I guess it makes up a bit for the quartermaster being such a scrooge. I managed to gamble away about $30,000 worth of stuff from the people in BOS Bunker Beta. :)
