Modifying/Adding Menus to the Pipboy Interface, Can You?

Hi,

I'm working on a mod that changes how chems work. Essentially, each chem delivers, or blocks, are certain set of chemicals to your body; then it tracks your blood levels, withdrawal, and tolerance of each; all of which combine to give complex interactions, positive and negative, as well as visual mods.

I wanted the various levels to display in the pipboy, like they do with dehydration and hunger, but I can't figure out how to do this. I've tried looking around on google, but haven't found anything relevant. Any help, even just a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

*I usually just makes mods for my own personal use, but if I can get this working, or find a work around, if anyone wants a copy when it's done, let me know.
 
That must be possible, as the things you want to change are actually hanged by DarnUI. But I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to even begin on working something like that.
 
I've never used anyone else's mods, to be honest; but I've seen some screenshots, so I know someone figured it out. It's driving me a little nuts since I've looked at every reference to pipboys and menus I can find in the Geck, nothing leads to what I'm looking for.

That said, do you think it would be too big a sacrifice in quality to add the menu elsewhere? Like hotkeyed to a button, in the pause menus, or pulled up by using an item (some medical device that checks your blood levels). I'm pretty sure I can make one of those work...
