I noticed that "chrisbeddoes" was present at the Troika chat at RPGCodex. For those of you who don't know, chris was a heavy-hitter modder of the Arcanum community. I'll have to see if I can contact him for plans for possible mods.
Thanks Odin, I'm gonna see if I can fix some of the buggy items (Cloak of Resistance +3, I'm looking at you....)
Browsing through the Atari forums I noticed that CB hadn't gotten a copy of ToEE yet - I hope when he does he does as good a job on it as he did on Arcanum. Be sure and keep us updated Gunslinger if you guys start a mod.

I`ve talked to him a bit on the day of the chat, if he wants to start modding ToEE we can host him if he wants, we had a "No Mages Allowed" project for Arcanum that never took off, maybe this time we can make something like that.

For those interested in modding the game, head over to the Circle of Eight Modification Forum. These guys are hard at work getting out the bugs and putting back in the features that Atari made Troika remove, so if you want to help or just want to know how to mod the game give them a look.
Heh, I'm sorry to say the Circle of Eight forums have been moved temporarly to the following address, as the sudden increase in users was a little too much for our servers.
The server couldn't handle the traffic, so, although we didn't want to do it we had to disable guest view...
If you register you'll be able to see everything.
We just thought it beats the alternative of not having a forum at all...
EDIT: Looks like I was wrong... The forum and site isn't working. Looks like wer'e having problems handeling the server load... I hope we didn't get /. or something.

I doubt its a slashdotting, just 100s of ToEE fans desperate for a patch - there hasn't been less than 30 people on the forums all weekend, and you guys got about 700 new posts in 2 days. On the plus side, most sites dream about having that much traffic!

We have set up temporary forums here.
It's still not clear if we will be able to maintain any forums with so much traffic on our servers... So you might end up seeing the site back, but the modding forum hosted somewhere else.
The work continues though, the patch *CAN* be released as off now, but there is voting on the amount of time we keep it before going public, so don't worry. We just don't want to release before it's done.
I will keep you guys up to date.
