Hi!

Dont hastle! I dont ask for a Mod, I offer one!

Since I found this site (and this forum), I was wandering, if all these mods could be used on a Mac....

I am speaking of FO2, that is; I dont know anything about FO1 ....

After tinkering with some of the tools using of Virtual-PC, I was able to make a mod that works on my Mac (and should on any other too)!

It seems(??) though, that Mods for Mac are not allowed here (Are Mac-Users=Mutants ? ;-))) )

So if any Mac-Fallout-ers out there are interested, please send me a mail and I can send my mod to you.
(Arghh! That will cost me..... ;-))) )

I also managed to make most of the mods available here to become Mac-compatible....

If anyone is interested, please drop me a line.

Hi!

That is strange.... Everyone(really?) is pulling my Mod, but no one says a thing ? Does it work or not ?

But that is not the main reason for this reply....

I have a new version of my Mod uploaded and hope it will appear soon.
It has MANY improvements and even some bug-fixes in it - so look out!

There will be soon a FO1-Version of this Mod, that I expect to upload in the next days....

I dont know though, how long it will take, until these mods will appear on this site....

Then there will be a (quite good - as I assume) Mod for all Macians for FO2 AND FO1!

That is great! But it would be nice, if someone would report back.
Till now, I dont know, if my Mod works at all and if it is working right.....(I want to chop off the beta tag ;-))) )

Where are those more than 200 Downloaders ???
I didnt realize, that there are THAT much Macians out there.....
Then there must be someone else, who might be able to assist me in making these Mods even better. can it be, that I am the only Mac-Modder ???

Now to all the (hopefully) nice PC-Guys:
I beg for some information for modding:
Come on - please help me on the following topics:

- How can you integrate maps, that are in patch000.dat or at
least replace them (because neither datexplore nor datman light
will do...)
- How to change the hex-offsets in the mapper tool (or via
hex-editor) to get working critters / items
(especially weapons and ammo) into a map
- How to implement new locations on the worldmap

I know, that there must be several people out there, who know that....
Please help a little Macian - and you might probably have a benefit
from that, too....(new maps and such might be compatible with PC and Mac alike)

Greetings

I was curious about the mac port. Was it created from scratch or was it run through some sort of emulator? Does anyone know how it compares to the pc game? Were the dead end quests cleaned up? Was anything added?

Hello!

Thats a lot of questions...
Its stated in the included reademe, what was added / changed.

Heres a short summary (newest version assumed):
(hoping the new version will be a available soon)
- some NPCs are better / some are much better (f.e.:Miria/Davin)
- Most items have changed (not only price)
- weapons with up to 2.5 times more damage
- Some changed maps (slightly)
- some bug-fixes (for the Mac!)
- Encounters more often and earlier

Not changed:
- new locations (cant do that - yet!)
- new maps (cant do that either...)
- scripts (I fear, I will never be able to do these...)
- quests (the same)
- pictures...

Yes, I used Virtual PC for this - and a hex-editor ...
Because all the needed tools are PC-only - shame....
But at least these tools didnt need a installed PC-Version !
(That would have made it impossible to do....)

Hope that clears things up...
I think it is worth a try....

Greetings
Jona
