more like fallout 1

I personally thought fallout 1 was far better structured and therefore far more entertaining then fallout 2, i mean what towns in fallot 2 had as much character and class as say the Hub or Junktown in fallout 1. Also the random encounters and people you meet in fallout ! were far better, you would encounter varied groups of raiders rather then 10 identical Yakuza's or Aliens. However what let fallout 1 down was the lack or a real economy or a more interactive environment... Also the weapons mods as well as the NPC's in fallout 2 were great it just went a bit over the top.... Its should be kept more realistic like fallout 1

By character and class, do you mean "small" and "very little to do"?

Other than the irritating amount of pop culture references in Fallout 2, I thought the towns were much better. There was much more to do in them and they had a lot more triggers.

As far as the random encounters go, Fallout 2's random encounters were much better. I esspecially like the Vs. encounters, like Slavers vs. Raiders. Just watch the fight and clean up on the spoils afterwards. The caves in the random encounters in Fallout 2 were a nice touch also.

*shutters* the annoying caves scenario.

Oo! 20 thieves in a cave
Oo! 20 geckos in a cave
Oo! 20 aliens in a cave
Oo! 20 raiders in a cave

i seriously demand variety at least, and different scenarios other than "cave" and "desert"

If I would compare FO1 with FO2, i'd go with FO2.
THe improvements tip off fallout 1's original post-apoc feel and "short, but sweet" storyline.

The caves were in addition to what was in Fallout random encounters! I find it odd that you scoff at the addition of the cave stuff being trivial when Fallout didn't even have that, yet you praise Fallout's random encounters.

Everything about the random encounters in Fallout are in Fallout 2 with a heavy helping of extras, such as the caves and the "Vs." battles.

Having Fallout 3's random encounters being "more like Fallout 1's" would be a HUGE step backwards.
