Mourning - The corrupt MMORPG jewel

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Many of you may not be familiar with this story. It's an epic tale of deceit, greed, misdirection that goes down in video game history as one of the biggest scams to ever face gamers.

The supposedly defunct MMO "Mourning" otherwise known as Realms of Torment, Realms of Krel, Throne Of Chaos and many other incarnations still exists today I've been following this pretty much since its conception years ago. What seemed like a promising upcoming MMO turned out to be a amazing whirlpool of lies all designed to obtain funds from high rolling investors and video gamers alike.

A very diligent friend and I worked on a story that was to air on mmosite.com, but it was never finished. We burned out... the rabbit hole did not stop with video game scams... Porn scams, mortgage scams, software scams, spam even the American movie industry... it just did not stop.

For those that may have heard of this and are interested in learning more, here is a VERY rough draft of the story. Many parts are missing, there are grammatical errors and fillers, but the data is all there.

Anyone else hear about this? Have any more information? I'm always interested in learning more.

Erm... Calling the police and let them work their magic? I couldn't hear most of the message, but if you're threatned it's a good start.

Stay safe, I hope they'll just stick with threats.

Hah agreed, however, there is not much anyone can do about threatening voice messages. At first, I thought his other messages were by accident (leaving voice messages with crappy rap music) then I realized, every song is by design.

Didn't your parents teach you to

NEVER RELEASE YOUR PHONE NUMBER ON THE INTERNET? :?

haha the phone number is less than a month old. My friend never used his mothers old phone number let alone post it on-line. The guy has ties to telemarketing databases as he has been involved in those types of scams in the past.

You could go on a violent vigilante spree and take him down before he even realizes what's going on.

You just need a grittier, darker persona and a kickass vigilante name.

All of which I'd be happy to help you with.

You can also put someone inside a safe and throw the safe in the water...

...just uh... some general inspirations. Yes.

This will prevent the fish from eating the person inside, (attention, joke imminent!) unless they're part of Ocean's Thirteen. (damn, now you missed the "joke"!)

Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue what's going on? So you were doing an expose on an mmo and now are receiving threatening phone calls? hwaaa?

Indeed! You just need to find out who threatened you, where he lives and then... BANG!

Especially investor scam MMOs

hit the nail on the head pally. That's what this is about, "investor scam". He comes in with a promising product, sucks in some high end investors, takes the cash and runs. Just one of his many scams. The thread about this on mmorpg.com was closed and I was banned for asking him to stop calling my house and playing "fracking awful music" lol... good times at that website eh? I think some newb moderator came in and tried to play house or something.

Anywho, I've done what I can, turned over what I have to the police and made them aware of the threats. Since that thread on mmorpg.com was closed he has stopped calling so he probably figures he won... I guess he did since he will be allowed to continue scamming folk. I love the way the world works sometimes.

Edit: And an especially down side to all of this is now my social security # is available via a google search so. Contacting creditors, banks and what not is always so joyful.
