Moving Fallout 2 save file to another computer

First time out of the vault
The short story is my computer hardrive I was playing Fallout 2 on got corrupted somehow and I had to enlist in the aid of a friend to copy everything off it to an external drive.

I copied over all the files that were in the BlackIsle\Fallout 2 folder. I was fairly far in the game and would hate to start over. I had installed the official patch (USA v1.02) and then Killap's Unnoficial patch (USA).

Any recommendations how I should go about so I'm able to pick up where I left off?

I'm going to be playing it on the same computer once I've reinstalled Windows XP. I still have my retail Fallout 2 disc.

Thanks.

If this is what you did, then you have your save games. You'll see them in BlackIsle\Fallout2\data\SAVEGAME

And so should reinstalling the game and then the patches in the correct order followed by copying over the save files do the trick?

There is nothing in the registry I need to mess with?

Yes. However, you don't need to (and shouldn't) install the official 1.02 patch, as my unofficial patch already includes it. All you need to do is install the game (humongous install), install my patch, and copy over your save games.
