I might (hope) be moving out of this shithole ghetto and into a 3 room apartment with someone. Hence, I would have a huge livingroom. For this livingroom I'll need an xbox 360. For this xbox 360 we'll (I'll) need a TV. I'm wondering which one to get, but there are so many brands and types. I think I'll want to keep it below $1000, if possible.

If hope this moving out thing works out, this place is kind of a dump. Not so much the room itself, but the neighbourhood. Especially as some lowlives broke into the hallway one night and stole our xbox and DVD player.

Buy German, that would be my advice. Long lifespan, even the used ones. No particular brand, though.

Frankly, I don't know much about television sets (probably why I've managed to break a couple of them). Just speaking from experience.

As for the thieves..well, you should invest in a trap door.

Overseer, where do you live?

When I wanna save money buying electronics, I try to get the ones from the display. You can really make a great bargain and they always make a couple of checks, if everything is still working propery.

Edit: I do that, because I'm greeeeeeeeedy as hell. (like all people who were living in Germany for some years)

Don't buy a 360. PS3 is the way to go

anyway I got myself a plasma and I am happy with my buy but the first thing you consider is.

1. will you pc be plugged into the TV lcd is much better for this as with plasmas you can get some blurring of text.

2. make sure the tv does have an output of 1080p this is true HD
also some tvs that are standard Def may still be 1080p compatible so they will be cheaper.

3. Connections, make sure the TV has HDMI as this will be the standard in the future so this is something also you need to look for.

4. take your Xbox or ps3 in when you go and buy a TV and have a look at how it looks on the screen. as you don't want to get home and find out that the TV you paid a $1000 bucks for doesn't look good when you console is plugged in.

5. make sure you barter I managed to get 400 off the price and free HD cables. get a couple of quotes on the same one from different stores.

I want to get a cheap HD TV, but so far there isn't really anything I can find...

Can you suggest anywhere I can look, or the price I may be looking at?

BTW, the 360 is awesome, don't buy the PS3!! Seriously though, it is the best buy I have purchased in a very long time, but make sure you get a HD TV to get the most out of your Xbox.

Yeah, HD TV is the way to go really. Maybe my neigbour will share the price.
