Multiple weapon modes anyone?

Fallout doesn't treat some weapons realisticaly.
I think you should be able to use other options for guns than Single, Burst, Targeted. Maybe a double barrel option for a shotgun? Examples are below. Maybe you need some upgrades to do somethings

Shotgun - double barrel fire
SMG - Grenade Launch
Minigun - Burn clip from hell (fire all 120 rounds, take 30 damage unless you have str 10...)
Rifle - Butt smash (melee)
Pistol - Butt smash
Pulse weapon -Weapon charge (takes 2xAP to fire, but increases damage by 2x)
Gauss weapon - Rail-gun through wall Eraser style

Maybe power armor could have some built-in features like lights or motion sensors or weapons. You could access them via some menu like the skilldex
Ex

Power armor - Light, Nightvision, Built-in plasma pistol
Combat armor - Shoulder light

Grenade launchers? Exactly where would you find grendades custom built to be attached to SMG launchers?

Miniguns should be removed. They're unrealistic in themselves. A forty pound minigun, gimme a break.

>Pistol - Butt smash

I wouldn't mind that..

>Pulse weapon -Weapon charge (takes 2xAP

They should be removed altogether. Who would have one of those after the war?

>Gauss weapon - Rail-gun through wall

Remove too. Railguns burn up their rails and require a lot of power to use. The ammo is too plentiful.

Oh get real, this is a destroyed world and you expect guns to have MOTION sensors of all things? Hell, why don't we just get a TOW missile launcher while we're at it? That totally ruins the motif.

>Power armor - Light, Nightvision, Built-in

No, wait, how about a mech suit too? Or maybe a mechanical Godzilla? The Advanced Power armor was bad enough, nothing could stand in your way. Get back to basics, a leather armor vest should be worth a lot, a metal one rare.

>plasma pistol

And how about arm-mounted gatling guns? Sheesh.

>Combat armor - Shoulder light

What? You expect SWAT-Team combat suit features? Give me a break, please, consider what game you're talking about. Maybe you should go play Quake.

Heh.. All my UZIs have grenade launchers on them! ;)

Seriously though, Fallout could stand to have some attribute requirements for some weapons. After all, it is possible for a person to lug around a minigun and fire it.. If they're REALLY, REALLY strong! At least a strength of 9.

As far as the guass rifles go, I'm happy they added them to Fallout 2. It's nice to have a small arms weapon that's actually useful in the latter part of the game. In Fallout, if you were the gun shootin' warrior type, you pretty much had to go in with the plasma rifle.

As far as power armor goes.. Well, it was fairly easy to get in Fallout 2 versus Fallout. I've played Fallout 2 enough to where I can get the Adv PA by level 8. You can probably get it early in levels than that, but I like to have the car first. Power Armor is an integral part of the game, but it should be hard to get.

Actually, I have to agree about the SWAT body armor being in the game. It would make a nice addition between the leather armor and the combat armor. I never cared much for the metal armor and something like police body armor shouldn't be that hard to get. Every major city has a SWAT team, and even smaller cities have police with access to some sort of bullet resistant armor.

As far as motion sensors on weapons... That's what the Motion Boy(tm) is for. That equipment is already in the game, no sense in making weapons with such a thing built in.

Umm... I was just saying that multiple modes of fire would be a bit more realistic. NOT that you should/shouldn't be able to find advanced weapons!
By the way, i hate quake

And how are you going to save the world in a leather jacket.

Energy weapons are a must, they should just make em look jeesier it's retro-future after all, plasma/laser pistols were great.

Well Neo in the matrix saved the world in a leather jacket. :)
Anyways ya i would mind some of the enhancements but the mini gun one is a little wierd...

No, all Neo did was break the Matrix's AI. The machines still run the actual world...
