My 2 Cents On FO3

Now I've seen several people mention the rest of the world, he's my 2 cents.

What if Fallout 3 contained the "The World" as a "Wasteland". Not only do you travel the West Coast of the remain of the US, but the entire world leading to a showdown on some remote island. In order to get to that Island, you need to travel to world, gaining levels, exp, NPCs, eq, etc. It would be a HUGE game and allow several different courses of action.

Also, I am in agreement with several other post that I've read about character details. Maybe it's just me, but I find that the more detailed you character can be, the more enjoyment you can get out of the game. Maybe adding someing along the lines of Diablo's multiple equipment slots and single pieces of armour (i.e. wrists, fingers, back, neck, belt, etc.) As far as the weaponry goes, if it were expanded to the entire world, the types of weapons could get quite expansive.

Another thing this would allow is a good variety of NPC aside from Americans, Ghouls, Mutants, Deathclaws, it be interesting if you could band together with members from different "ethnic" cultures and background due to some "superior" threat, affecting the entire world (i.e. The "Proverbial" Mad Man). This would expand greatly on NPC interation and allow a more indepth and intreiging storyline.

Also, I read someone's idea on "careers". What if it weren't so much careers but how or where your were raised? Or your educational background? Or even the location? I think it be interesting if FO3 did span the world, and you could choose your "Race" as in Wasteland (Man, showing my age there.).

As far as "The World" idea, not so much each individual countries, but more along the lines of "strategic" places, areas that would be the first to be destroyed by the nukes. That opens all sorts of doors (Almost all of Europe, Russia, The Orient, Africa, South and North America, and Austrailia. Each with it's own set of laws and sub-plots.)

That everything I can think of currently, but I'm sure I'll expand on this in the future.

why the hell would you need a ring in fallout? i can see maybe and i stress the maybe see a belt to hold bullets. but it would be much good

There's a problem with this. Either you get Daggerfall-esque towns where nobody means a shit, or you have a few towns spread WAY out. Now, if you had towns spread far apart, how would you make up for the interaction between them? It's rather hard to do so when the travel time is WEEKS between them. Or is this a giant sightseeing tour for novelty's sake?

Yes, I just wub that +5 Amulet of Radiation and those Rings of Uselessness...

Yes, everyone loves one another.

Seriously, have you played Fallout 1 and 2?

Yay! Instead of a few sparse towns, we get to pretend that your happy ass wouldn't get shot dead for being a foreigner tourist, walking through cities that have little to no interaction between each whatsoever.

Now here's someone who likely hasn't traveled to another country.

*rolls eyes*

OK no. I saw that someone mentioned earlier that there probably would be no islands because the icecaps would have melted substantially. And how would you travel to these places. It would take monthes by boat, and if you had a plane where would you get fuel for it. And do you know how many people would kill for a plane.(almost everyone)

Ok places that would've been startegically destroyed by nukes would be the most destroyed areas. and practically the world would be a wasteland anyway; that is why we don't nuke other countries it affects us too, it practically effects the whole world. That is what the term FALLOUT means: the ash and nuclear debris spreads in the atmosphere collectively covering the entire world, if it's one nuke it would be sparce, but tons of em' would leave the world ruined. Exactly how you see it in Fallout 1 and 2

Good idea, I like it myself, but to make it worth playing it would take several years to make, traveling from contenent to contenent with nothing but leftovers from the nukes would take months if at all posible. Good idea, but it will never happen.
