Part One: Introduction and Fractions
Fallout 4
The Game will have three game modes, one of these is the normal game, the second is the Hardcore mode which will improve features from New Vegas (Such as dehydration depending where you are and what time it is) and a “Tales of the Wasteland” mode which is a side story to the Main Game. More on that latter.
Main Game/Hardcore Mode
Much like every Fallout game that proceeds 4, there will be a short cutscene introducing the game world. This time it’s Boston which is roughly the same size as New Vegas. While gameplay will mostly stay the same, the third person mode will be over the shoulder so that gamers who feel comfortable playing like that now have that option. The Karma system will also be abolished for reputation system which will be improved. Now stealing a Pencil won’t affect your reputation with a fraction but stealing food, guns and medication will (and it may also affect events in the game such as stealing guns could lead to a gun shortage towards the end of the game). It will also use the “Creation Engine” from Skyrim.
The Reputation System will work something like this:
Enemy (-50)
Alert (-35)
Caution (-10)
Natural (0)
Praised (10)
Liked (20)
Ally (40)
Hero (50)
Here is a list of what affects your reputation with any fraction.
