My post apocalyptic album

MrBumble

Vault Fossil
It's called "1961" and it features nine tracks of post apocalyptic music, highly inspired ( I actually think I ripped it off :? ... ) by the Fallout soundtrack.

Here's the tracklisting :

1. Geiger Project first demo : the first demo I did. At the time I was making this music with a friend of mine and I came with this demo. We wanted to have a narrator speaking over our music...A rather bad idea I think...We did four or five demos under the name "Geiger Project" including two with a narrator. I'm not rather proud of this demo but hey, this is how it started :)

2. Misleading Lands Video : a track I did for the Unreal 2004 mod Misleading Lands introduction video. They never used it, they used some nu-metal instead...

3. Misleading Lands Bunker : a track I did for Misleading Lands, the Vault map...They wanted something with more rythm. Don't know if they used it or not.

4. Chronicles of the Wasteland : a demo I did with the following idea in mind : each month a new track + new illustration + new text so you can follow a story on a website. It never happened since I never found somebody who would draw illustrations for me...

5. 6. 7. 8 : music I did for Ground Zero...

9. Dessicated House of God : a track I did which is( was ? ) supposed to be included in Strus' album "wasteland themes" as a bonus. I tried to represent somebody entering the remains of a partially destroyed church hoping to find peace there...which he will find, in a ..certain way...

You can download the album on rapidshare here :

Hope you'll enjoy it :)

lol i downloaded this,

my first question: you call this music?

no okay lets make some comments about your talent, this sounds for me like a post acolyptic video game background music. it istn really "music" so i rather stay at my hip hop geshizzel, where they tell that they will shoot each other, and all rapper think they have an mkII power super power armor with minigun unlimited edition. THIS IS POSTACOCALYPTIC lol ...

but for backgroundmusic i must really tell, this rocks, but if you have a good mood, it makes you depressed and angry, so i rather hit that winamp close button, maybe when you play stalker and shoot some mutants, this music would be nice.

Okay i have enough gebrabbelt.

9/10 points, but only for postacoclyptic games.

EDIT: forgot something, rapidshare SUCKS! plz not again!

Well...It was mainly done for video games/mods. I do not really call it music, it's ambiant stuff, yeah background music if you will. I do not listen to that kind of stuff and dance at it like crazy either ;) I'm more into hip hop and metal. It's just what the Fallout universe arouses on me. It's more a soundtrack than a "real album".

And yeah, rapidshare sucks. But I can't host it somewhere else...yet. The file is too heavy for the Fan Art section I think.

Woohey... now that rocks dude :)

@Schuljunge

I´d call that music - I love to listen ambient tracks like that.

My favourites:
Misleading Land Bunker
Chronicles of the Wasteland demo
Ground Zero Travel
Ground Zero Ray of Light

Keep up the good work! :)

I really like it and enjoyed listening.
But imo the tracks have a TOO similar sound. The whole album seems like a collection of really good ambient tracks for just ONE or TWO special scenes. But I don't know which ones. ;)
But I hope you get the point.

I don't know what to answer : you're right. I'm defeated haha. You're right. I think there are some different vibes and feelings but the global sound is globally the same during all the album. This is something I should definitely work on. Thank you for having listened to it !

Yeah, I gave it a good listen and they sound samey. It is a great ambience about it, but thats all...

Did you sample the sounds, or did you create your own ones?

It depends...I would say that half of it is sampled and half of it is played/programmed with some VLC instruments and with the midi synth included in Ableton Live 5.
